CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

1. Invited Keynotes
Only by formal invitation from the Scientific Committee

2. Invited Pre-Congress Half Day Workshops
Only by formal invitation from the Scientific Committee. These are half-day skills based workshops, especially covering the identified congress themes.

Pre-Congress Half-Day Workshops will run on June 2,2011.

The abstract should be a maximum of 400 words. It should include background for the topic covered and the overall objectives of the workshop.

Contributors should provide a structured abstract to include the following:

    1. Learning objectives
    2. Training modalities e.g. experiential or didactic
    3. 2-3 key references
    4. A brief description of the workshop leader(s) (Maximum 75 words)

Pre-Congress Half-Day Workshops will run for between 2,5 (minimum) to 3,5 (maximum) hours including one coffee break.

3. Invited Pre-Congress Full Day Workshops
Only by formal invitation from the Scientific Committee. These are full-day skills based workshops, especially covering the identified congress themes.

Pre-Congress Full-Day Workshops will run on June 2,2011.

The abstract should be a maximum of 400 words. It should include background for the topic covered and the overall objectives of the workshop.

Contributors should provide a structured abstract to include the following:

    1. Learning objectives
    2. Training modalities e.g. experiential or didactic
    3. 2-3 key references
    4. A brief description of the workshop leader(s) (Maximum 75 words)

Pre-Congress Full-Day Workshops will run for 8 hours including lunch and two coffee breaks.

4. In-Congress Half Day Workshops
Submissions are welcome for in – congress half day workshops. These are half-day skills based workshops, especially covering the identified congress themes.

In-Congress Half-Day Workshops will run on June 3- 4 -5,2011.

The abstract should be a maximum of 400 words. It should include background for the topic covered and the overall objectives of the workshop.

Contributors should provide a structured abstract to include the following:

    1. Learning objectives
    2. Training modalities e.g. experiential or didactic
    3. 2-3 key references
    4. A brief description of the workshop leader(s) (Maximum 75 words)

In-Congress Half-Day Workshops will run for between 2,5 (minimum) to 3,5 (maximum) hours including one  coffee break.

5. MasterClinican
This is a clinical case discussion which illusterates a patient’s treatment from the beginning to the end supplemented by video clips to show how to do the treatment.MasterClinician Sessions will be scheduled for 90 min.

6. MasterClass
This is more about difficulties and roadblocks enhanced during assesments and treatments of different disorders and it illustrates how to overcome those difficulties. MasterClass Sessions will be scheduled for 60 - 90 min.

7. Clinical and Research Symposia
These are multiple presentations on a single or related clinical or research area.

Symposia will consist of a Chair, Individual Presenters, and a Discussant (optional) .

They will be scheduled for up either 60 or 90 minutes.

There should be a maximum of 4-5 speakers per symposia (including discussant).

To ensure we receive adequate information, all submitted Symposia should have an abstract of 400 – 600 words. This should be a general description of the overall symposia, including the names of at least 3 presenters. If you wish, then within this word-limit, you can provide a short summary of each speaker’s topic.

In your abstract, please identify which main theme/themes you consider your submission to be most suitable for.

However, at this stage, we do not require the individual abstracts for each speaker.

The name and contact details of the chair person must be provided. This individual accepts responsibility for ensuring that all speakers provide individual abstracts, when requested. They must also ensure that speakers register and communicate as required, practical information to the scientific committee as well as individual speakers in the symposia.

8. Meet the Expert Sessions
This is where experts provide a brief statement of their position on a specific clinical or theoretical issue or topic, and then debate differences in opinion, controversial issues etc. with other experts and the audience.

An active Chair who may act as discussant, introduces the topic,handles the debate amongst the expert or experts and takes questions from the audience.
Meet the Expert Sessions can contain minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3-4 people (maximum 4) which includes a discussant (if providing a summary). Each presenter should not present more than 10 – 15 minutes to allow enough space for discussion with the audience.

Panel discussions will be scheduled for either 60 or 90 minutes.

The abstract should not exceed 400 words.

9. Clinical Roundtable
This is a clinical case discussion illustrating a clinical problem under discussion. Presenters can present an anonymised case, focusing on specific topics. One person is required to present the case and up to 3 people can comment on the case.

Clinical roundtable will be scheduled for either 60 or 90 minutes.

For example: A clinical case shall be presented for approximately 10-15 minutes and each expert shall provide their opinions in 5 minutes.  The remaining time will be for debate and taking questions from the audience.

The structure is flexible and alternative proposals will be considered.  However, please take note of time constraints and this should be strictly managed.

This requires a Chair who may act as an optional discussant who introduces the topic, handles comments from the other participants and fields questions from the audience.

The abstract should not exceed 400 words.

10. Open Papers
These are presentations on a clinical, theoretical or research topic with a typical time allocation of 15 minutes.

The structured abstract should be a maximum of 250 words.

This should include:

    1. Introduction,
    2. Method
    3. Results
    4. Discussion
    5. Conclusion

Where possible these will be organised into open paper symposia that form a coherent topic within the congress main themes.

Would you like except your submission to be presented in a poster format in case it does not fit into a symposium content.

In your abstract, please identify which main theme/themes you consider your submission to be most suitable for.

11. Posters
These are single presentations on Case Reports or Research Studies, which may be works in progress.

Posters will be displayed at poster exhibition area.

Posters require an attractive visual presentation of the study/cases.

The structured abstract should be a maximum of 250 words.

All identifying details in a Case Report Poster must be removed or altered so as to maintain anonymity.

12. Registration
All presenting authors of accepted submissions MUST register and complete their payment for the congress as soon as possible to guarantee the publication of their abstract in the Congress Official Abstract Book. If registration and payment are not received, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to remove the abstract from publication.
